About Us
Missouri S&T is on the leading edge among universities in the development of a comprehensive environmental management system. Missouri S&T recognizes the need to address potential environmental issues in the academic setting.
The Missouri S&T Institute for Environmental Excellence seeks to support the university in its commitment to continual improvement of environmental management, as well as in its commitment to educating future leaders. In a world growing increasingly dependent on science and technology, tomorrow's engineers and scientists must be prepared to be leaders in more than just their chosen professions. They must also be leaders in environmental excellence.
The institute will strive to promote the development of innovative environmental curricula, to support research efforts related to the environment, and to serve as an increasingly valued national resource for environmental management issues.
The institute will strive to promote EMS nationally among public entities, including the college and university sector.
